Our Approach

On February 14, 2018, the domain name 'barckada.club' was acquired and registered for the BARCkada Club website. It was then officially launched as our official website with the tagline: “Your Breakaway Hub” representing Team BARC.

Considered to be the first and only team in the running community of Cebu with a functional website (www.barckada.club) registered under a professional sports club category and is recognized by the Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Philippines License.

While ‘BARC refers to the core people - as the internal group exclusive for the official members of the team, ‘BARCkada Club on the other hand, is BARC’s associated flagship brand for online presence (resembling the Tagalog word ‘barkada’ which means a group of friends). It serves as the team’s social platform bearing BARC official Facebook page, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube channel, and the organization’s trade name soon to be registered under SEC (Security and Exchange Commission). It is BARC’s proprietary name towards marketing uplift where the scope is not limited only to Cebuanos but to enable its reach across the country and beyond.

And yes BARCkada Club is totally open for all. Whether you're into fun races or not, half/full/ultra marathons, trail runs, barkada-trekking, hiking, community outreach programs, school-organized events… you name it, then this may be a great place for you to find out.

At BARCkada Club, we are more than just a fancy club. With the advocacy and principles we uphold, we are dedicated and glad to be a helping sports and fitness community to Filipinos regardless of where you from, what dialect you speak, an aspiring beginner, average runner, or an elite athlete - everyone is welcome!

Why BARCkada Club?

BARCkada Club is a public online-based community website owned by BARC existing under the cyberlaw of the Republic of the Philippines. It is designed to set positive influence over social media with the following goals/objectives:

  • To share helpful tips, motivations on sports, insights about health/wellness, relevant inspirational videos, and any value-adding contents that catch interests with moral sense;
  • To promote certain personalities that contribute benevolence in the eye of the society, activities and significant milestones of known events that have a great impact on the welfare of the community;
  • To engage friendly interactions between our support members, leaders, other groups, social influencers, and the netizens as a whole allowing better connections through the practice of good publicity with exciting rewards and gifts courtesy from our sponsors and brand partners. (TBA)

lt is always the 'pleased' and 'satisfied' supporters/followers/subscribers that matters to us. The club needs advocates rather than conventional social media fans (aka “auto-likers”). Advocates in this context, mean real people who can help us generate more quality content that makes sense and is relevant to the general public. That's why we like to feature in our posts members and non-members alike, by making vlogs of them or featuring videos of known local sports and fitness personalities, and even shares a testimonial about our organized events at no cost. Our goal is to promote our brand advocates as the 'Ambassadors' of their own craft that everybody would relate and accept.
