AWUM 2019 Bib #24 Ultra-AWUMer at last!
The AWUM 2019 is one heck of a bonggacious ultramarathon event nailed every month of March in Cebu, Philippines. Dubbed to be the longest fashion show on earth, is now making rounds across social media especially in the running community of Cebu.
With over 300 female runners, the AWUM or All-Women Ultra Marathon is a 50-km ultra marathon exclusive for women held in celebration of the International Women’s Month every March empowering women all over the world. Thanks to the brilliant minds of Doc Willie Estepa, Sir Doy Ledoy P. Mendoza, the entire ThinkTank family, and to all the volunteering 26 running clubs & tri-athlete teams for making this even happen. Not to mention the chosen charity recipient for this 8th AWUM: CEBU HOPE CENTER, INC. (home of the sexually abused children aged 6 – 19)
This prestigious all-women running event, on it’s 8th year held last March 9-10, 2019 with the starting and finish line in Ayala Terraces was definitely a one-of-a-kind experience especially to the first timer kaBARC Saf Balili.
And yes you heard it right! Saf, a.k.a Safventure – Team BARC’s Cap. Marvel look-a-like, is the only AWUM participant and proud-finisher of Breakaway Runners of Cebu in this year’s race.

As the only runner of the team, she was freaking excited and a bit challenged due to the fact that it was her first ultramarathon she joined and successfully finished.
